As I suspected... Seamonkey, and thus most likely Firefox allows the user to set their preferred back ground colors overiding all the webpage's specified color pallette... i tend to select greys...

of course as soon I got back in from walking the dog... Kendall mentions he's altering the CSS... so i opened Chromium and yes... it's a more subtle white... all the link buttons in the above left appear in shades for grey for me... in both my browsers...

I think I had 57 posts on the old board, I'm not sure though, I have not been back to the old board since I joined this one....

I briefly looked for a simple way to import user accounts but it ended up being more hassle and effort than I really cared to contribute. Not trying to be lazy or anything, I just have a lot of things going on. Anyway, it required exporting the database, truncating a ton of tables, scrubbing out the spam accounts, and a bunch more stuff. Ultimately I figured it would be better in the long run to just leave everything.

I think there's something to be said for a fresh start, as well.  The old forum isn't going anywhere so those numbers are safe.  Yes?  No?   :)

Correct. The old forum will be switched to "read only" and left in place as a reference.

I don't dislike change, I am just used to being able to click on the two links the old forum had, one showed me all new posts the other my own posts it made it easier to find things,

I think I have to agree with that otherwise I think the site is great, I'm getting used to it already, one thing I would like to see implemented if possible is a "Go Up" button at the bottom of each page it saves wear on my mouse scroller :)

This is a fine idea. If I have time tomorrow, I'll look into it.

There are 2 mods for this feature, but both appear to be broken for this version of SMF, They both gave errors on installation (even if I emulate a version that allows them to install), so I went no further and removed them .. might be a starting point though.

Done :)

"Go Up" and "Go Down" links at bottom/top of pages.

I wish you'd pointed out we have it on the linux.co.uk forum .. turns out SMF has this out of the box, II found it hiding in the settings.

Hello, everyone.

I wasn't really sure where to post this (and I hope you don't get upset at me for reviving an old thread). I'm new to Peppermint OS and I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been messing around with Linux for around eight months now (switching between various distros, mostly favoring Ubuntu Gnome and Elementary OS). I stumbled upon a review of Peppermint version 4 online a few weeks ago, and it sounded great (the Ice program is especially interesting). I did some more reading and apparently version 5 is being released soon, so I thought I'd join the community along with trying out Peppermint 5 once it's available.

So, yeah. My name's Zach, it's nice to meet all of you.
