Adding previous posts to new post.(SOLVED)
« on: January 29, 2019, 09:12:34 am »
Hello Peppermint people. I think it's about time I learned how to be able to refer to a previous post in a new post or reply I am creating. It seems like everybody knows how to do it except me. Anyway, I need to learn how to do that, can someone please explain?  :-\

Hi alynur,

If you mean that you wish to provide a link to another post such as to my tutorial about Use symlinks to a DATA partition then proceed as follows:

Position the mouse cursor on the Subject: that is listed in the posting you wish to link to (in this example: the subject line in my tutorial) and (assuming your mouse is set up for right-handed use) click the right-side button to get the context menu. Select the entry Copy Link Location.

Then in your new post you can enter whatever text you wish to appear as the link, such as "here is the link" and then select that text (as if you were about to copy it).

Now click on the globe icon above the text entry box (the 2nd icon in the 2nd row of icons: it will pop-up Insert Hyperlink if you hold the mouse pointer over it long enough). After clicking the globe icon just paste the copied link location into the resulting pop-up's text field and then click OK.

I hope that is somewhat clear.  8)

Regards,

-- Slim

Still not sure https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,7996.msg81762.html#msg81762 Or right here is an indication. What am I doing wrong?
Code: [Select]
Now click on the globe icon above the text entry box (the 2nd icon in the 2nd row of icons: it will pop-up Insert Hyperlink if you hold the mouse pointer over it long enough). After clicking the globe icon just paste the copied link location into the resulting pop-up's text field and then click OK.

I don't get a pop-up and therefore there is no place to click okay.

Hmm, maybe the default add blocker is stopping it.

Enabled pop-ups and still the same.
