Nice to be included, but are any of those distros actually "new" ?

Nope. Someone even commented on that. They pointed out that AntiX was started in 2007. I think they should have left the word "New" out of it. It's still a good article about smaller Linux distros to let people know about them.

Oh sure it's a pretty good list, it's only the use of "new distros" in title that jumped out at me :)

half of these distros that have little to no users i tend to avoid because they either dont last or arent polished enough to be used as a daily driver. out of that list maybe arco or sparky id go for. netrunner or prime os (android) are 2 i like other than the usuals

I would have to agree when it comes to Sparky.. I have used it on and off. When it comes to older gear and what not. I can say that wine support with Sparky is better than with Pep. After a few bare metal installs and what not.  :-\
But I think some of that comes from my pick of proton,. So I will have to sort that out in the morning. Tis going to sound like a broken record, but after #! crapped out? I hopped way to much. I am home. Anything that I learn? I will give back. :D

 Y'all are awesome,
