search actions in the whisker menu
« on: January 16, 2019, 07:09:28 pm »
Hi all,

As a Peppermint newbie (Peppermint 9 respin 32-bit)  I watched a video on youtube which was v.interesting on the Whisker menu and how you could add shortcuts to any folders on your desktop.

You have to right-click the whiskermenu icon and select "Properties" .. select the "Search Actions" tab .. click the "Add" button (+) .. enter:-

I ,however, had to do something slightly different from the person in the video to get it to work (I had to add %U to the command) box which he did not have to do. This might be obvious to everyone but as a new Peppermint (and Linux user) I was pleased to be able to get it to work.

For example:
Name: Documents
Pattern:d
Command: nemo %U/home/name/Documents

I hope this is useful to someone as I am finding these shortcuts v.useful.

Cheers.

P.S. Have been using Peppermint for a few days and still loving it. :)
P.P.S. Thanks also to everyone who has posted videos on youtube (especially English Bob) which encouraged me to try peppermint. ;D
