Hello everyone. I've only just finished installing Peppermint-9 respin. Everything seems to be working fine, just a little strange at the moment until i get used to the OS.
I'm a space junkie and would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me where i can get 'free' space images for my desktop background.
Thanks.

Hi old-dreamer, welcome to Peppermint. You can use any photo you have for your desktop, I change photos of my kids every so often and on some distros i use photos of C-130 aircraft, being a 130 junkie. So you are not limited to just wallpapers.
What was I thinking?

Hi, they are located in:

/usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers

You will need to open it as root user to copy your background in there:

Code: [Select]
sudo nemo /usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers

Hi

The default wallpapers are located at /usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers

That said you can store them anywhere you like ie I placed a folder called Desktop_Wallpapers in my  ~/Pictures folder, then added it in the wallpaper manager Menu>Accessories>Wallpapers, when the dialogue box opens click Preferences then add your folder

Once youve done that you can change your background by right clicking anywhere on the desktop click Change Desktop Background then select one of your images from there

If you need any more help post here

Good luck
