Been getting rid of that #$%! Linux 4.20.x for a couple of hours, and washing, rinsing and restyling Conky  -  just shut it down. Hold on...  :)

Okay, it's 'xfce-panel 4.12.0'

Megasync is still working fine on the disco-proposed 4.19 LTS kernel. Just saying...

EDIT

BTW, I can't find any automounter in PM7...

Hi VinDSL, why are you getting rid of the 4.20 kernel? maybe that's what I should do, been having problems several updates after installing it.

The 4.20 kernel ran fine, on my 32bit 2004 Dell Dimension 3000 - dittos for the 5.0 kernel which recently replaced it.

On the other, the 4.20 kernel ran like Azz on my custom 32bit 2004 LanParty machine - hence, its return to the 4.19 LTS.

Can we please stop sidetracking this with discussions about kernel versions .. UNLESS of course it's pertinent to the original topic, such as "hey the MEGAsync panel applet works under the x.xx kernel" .. TIA :)

Which theme are you using in both PM8 and 9 ?

PM8
Widget = Mist
Icon Set = Pepirus

PM9
Widget = Peppermint-Red-Dark
Icon set = Pepirus-Dark

I set PM9 theme to Mist to see what it effect it had and it sorted the theming issue with both Megasync & Anydesk (Show Status still wasn't opening) then I put it back to Peppermint-Red-Dark and strangely Megasync is now rendering the theme correctly but it made no difference to Anydesk

So I think you're right whatever's causing Megasync "Show Status" not to open it's not got anything to do with themeing

(btw how would you spell themeing no matter how I do it it doesn't look right, is there even such a word ? )

You're probably being coy, but its theming...  ;)

This is bizarre, but I've discovered if I open Firefox or Thunderbird (full screen) the "Show Status" box will open usually first time sometimes after 2 or 3 attempts,  it will open with other programs such as Clementine or Shotwell but it could take anything up to 10 to 20 attempts with a clear desktop will usually open in under 8 attempts but it's quite random

so what could be different about Firefox and Thunderbird ?  :-\

@Vin

Could you try it as well to see if you're getting the same effect ?

Late to the party...

I got my 'new' used Dell monitor today, and have been re-configuring my tree - balancing the color, tint, brightness and contrast settings, so the displays match one another - tweaked my Conky script for the larger screen(s) - and all that nonsense. It's a labor of love - took me 6 hours.

Anyway, I just tried Thunderbird (full screen) 10 times. Then, Fx (full screen) 10 times. Then, Thunderbird & Fx  (both full screen) 10 times - I even tried this on different displays (my primary display and the others) and nothing popped up - not even once, Graeme.  :-\

Can I have you guys "inxi -Fz" output please (from the problem PC/OS) .. see if there's a common graphics driver or not, because Graeme's weird "full screen app" thing is just odd.

I'm on the trot, right now, with the Road Warrior - sitting in a waiting room  ::)

Haven't taken this lappy out of my briefcase in a week or so - borrowed their WiFi, and updated.

This is a Peppermint 7 machine, but the Megasync panel is showing the status just fine.

It works perfect in Peppermint 8 as well
