...yes, i686 is 32bits.

Google CHROME will give you an error if you attempt to install it in a 32bit distro .. because Google only do a 64bit version of Chrome now.

The closest you're going to get is Chromium (which still has a 32bit version).

To install Chromium, open a terminal and run:

sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.

Yes it was a question.  I thought the "bits: 32" meant this little notebook won't support 64 bit.  I installed Peppermint a couple of weeks ago and forgot about the 32 bit part.  I got Chromium installed.  Replying using it right now.

I thought the "bits: 32" meant this little notebook won't support 64 bit.

Your processor should be able to run a 64-bit OS. I'm sure it won't mind the 32-bit version though.

It's one of those machines with a 64bits processor, but with a 32bits boot...
