What processor do you have because I think you may be misunderstanding the forcepae parameter ?

Okay what problem are you actually having ?

Because if your CPU doesn't actually physically support PAE there is no kernel boot parameter that can make it. All the forcepae kernel boot parameter did was tell the kernel to enable PAE even when the CPU didn't tell the kernel it supported PAE (even though it actually DID)

Some Pentium M processors didn't list the pae flag, even though the DO actually support PAE .. that's what the "forcepae" option was for, it cannot make a non-PAE CPU support PAE.

linux mint when i try to run it live says i must use force pae, on their menu they have a boot with forcepae option, and when i use that it works and installs, I was hoping peppermint had a way of doing something similar, so i can boot it live and install it....

Okay boot the LiveUSB/LiveDVD

When you get to the "Try Peppermint" / "Install Peppermint" screen, hit the "Tab" key .. you should see some white writing at the bottom of the screen that ends with:-
Code: [Select]
quiet splash --
make it end with:-
Code: [Select]
quiet splash forcepae -- forcepae
then hit the "Enter" key to continue booting.

thank you Mark, its booting, tried this like 5 times and it didn't work, but seeing your post i noticed you had a space between the -- and forcepae....   once i hit space and added forcepae it worked...
