I must say I'm over the moon with how the Peppermint 9 Respin fared on the BDLL Distro Challenge this week :)

See for yourselves...

Truth be told, EB threatened to lock us in his taxi trunk and drive us into the Thames if we didn't.

Oddly, it reminds me of the times I've spent as a Federal Grand Juror - USAs, AUSAs, Foreman and the whole nine yards.

In this case, they called "No True Bill", which is a good thing.

Thanks, for keeping us out of jail, Mark  ;D

EDIT

(Over) Thinking, a little more; It was the comment someone made about being appointed "Secretary of the Court", e.g. Docket Clerk.

Maybe I missed something. I'm not sure what 'the challenge' was, but it's obvious that these Linux overlords feel empowered and empaneled to stand in judgment over us all. So be it.

Anyway, I JUDGE Peppermint passed the challenge with flying colors. YaY, Team Peppermint - especially you, Chief!

That was excellent.  We had some from Peppermint's A-Team on that show -- zebedeeboss, stevesveryown, and English Bob.  Honest assessments, great reviews.  Yeah, they're loving Peppermint 9 Respin.

And, for a added bonus, I now know where English Bob finds all those cute hotties for his wallpapers.  He finds them and drives them from Gatwick Airport.  Yeah, this is all beginning to make sense to me now!

Great reviews and validation of a Great Distro.  A testament to Mark's great work.   :)

The challenge is to each other to run it for a week (ish).

It's not so much that they sit in  judgement as much as point out shortcomings and things that could be improved, as well as strengths and lessons other distros might benefit from .. generally they people live on the show are pretty nice about it, and give a fair (if a little nerve racking) representation of the general 'feel' of a distro.

I MUCH prefer this to the Youtubers who load a distro in a VM for ten minutes with zero interaction with its developers, then offer a single persons (often pre-biased) opinion on it with no opportunity for explanation/rebuttal/other opinions.
(then bitch about 'military time' and theming for the entire 'review' ::))

At least the BDLL challenge allows the devs to take part (if they choose), and many different viewpoints to be expressed (live) :)

This is so not true and if it comes across that way I can assure you Rocco would be horrified. The challenge started out trying to get each other to run some obscure hard to set up Distros just for the giggles.  Then we ran out of those and started to pick main stream ones.

Some comments made, may seem obscure. but they probably relate to chatter that has gone on during the week in the BDLL or Destination Linux Telegram Groups.

Either way Peppermint did well - I have been there every week now for over a year and no other Distro came out on top, with so many positive comments like our Pep did.

Thank you, zeb.  You did a terrific job.  You were on top of it:  you were right there with answers and insights when needed.  No question about it:  Peppermint 9 Respin came out of that group's testing with an A+!
