Peppermint 9 OS running on Acer Aspire one
« on: January 05, 2019, 12:04:11 pm »
I installed this OS a few weeks ago, added my wife as a user and all was fine.

Recently I tried to logon, my password is accepted, the sceen goes blank for a second or so and the logon screen returns.

I just cant logon..nor can my wife who is set up not to need a password.

What do I do?.    I am not an OS expert so want to avoid a bunch of coding mods.

thanks Tim

When you get to the login screen, if you hit Ctrl+Alt+F2 .. are you able to log on in text mode ?

If so, run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get clean
then
Code: [Select]
sudo service lightdm restart
did that get you back to a working desktop ?
