Best Radio Player and Why?
« on: January 04, 2019, 06:23:20 pm »
Hello All Peppermint Users,

I love listening to radio, whether internet stations or local ones. As the subject states, I am looking to source the best player for Peppermint.

I used to use Guayadeque. An excellent player, that will sort your home music collections as well. Had some gstreamer issues at one time, while most are now resolved.

My current option is Lollypop, very easy to use, great for radio and private music. Although a recent update (unsure at this point if it was a Peppermint update recently rendered my program useless, causing a re-install of Peppermint.

Gradio....

Why .. it's the best :))

It should be in the "Software Manager" if I remember correctly (as a flatpak).

Be Aware - Because it's a flatpak, t's gona take up a HUGE amount of disk space.

[EDIT]

If you don't want to waste 2.1GB of disk space just for a radio player (damn snaps and flatpak's are inefficient), and don't mind a slightly older version .. that still works perfectly, see here:

Pandora in an Ice SSB is my go-to for radio. Custom stations for the win. 8)

If you're open to using Chrome/Chromium, I've had good success with the Worldwide Radio extension:
