Conky display around Peppermint-like image
« on: August 05, 2014, 06:04:39 am »
Hi everyone,

To those using or interested in using conky on their desktop:

I guess that this counts as a "theme" -- a "conky theme" actually. Below you can see two smaller images of the actual conky window and a large image of how it appears on my Openbox desktop. Any suggestions for improvement would be appreciated! Click on the images for a larger, detailed view.

Conky on black background:

Conky on a green, textured background:

Conky on full screen Openbox desktop:

I wanted to keep it simple so I did not include the PeppermintOS image anywhere, but that is, of course, a simple to implement addition that I might do sometime.

Regards,

It's an interesting theme.

Would you mind posting the contents of your conky script? (edit: I was viewing your post via Tapatalk when I first saw it, I did not see your Conky script, thanks for posting it)

Hey, 10i:

The conkyrc file looks like this:

conkyrc file
[close]

Of course, you must have the image file (last line in the listing in the spoiler above (lsd_pos6.png) and you may need to adjust the line for the CPU temperature -- currently

Code: [Select]
${platform coretemp.0 temp 2} °C
in order to get the temperature displayed (my computer is not very new so the line I used might not work for you).

If you have any further questions, let me know with another message here in the forum. 8)

Then why not give it a try?

OK, I know -- it is a little time consuming to set it up the way you want it to be (but that is, for me, part of the fun). And it is not for lack of active participation that you are fondly referred to as PCNeverSleep  ;D

I think you're misinterpreting why I'm finding it inviting ;)

Hi everyone,

Looking at my old original post and the one listing the conkyrc config file I noticed that the images had been accidentally removed (so I corrected that) and that my conkyrc file was no longer up-to-date (so I also corrected that). If anyone wants the image used for the "conky theme" then let me know here and I will make it available as well. The biker babe, however, remains at my place!  :P
