Problems with installation on Asus E200H
« on: December 07, 2018, 03:40:38 pm »
Hello
Installed 9 on the dear wife's laptop, no sound or microphone working. While checking this over, we tried playing a video on YouTube to check the sound, and that didn't work either. The video wouldn't play either...on Firefox...

I've had a look a Alsa and that appears to be working,

She would like to have Skype running on this laptop, obviously this need the audio side of things working.

Thanks

Hi Velo,

Please open a terminal and run this command:

Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz
Then copy the resulting output and post it back here in your next message. This gives us a better idea about the hardware in the computer and can make problem solving a little bit easier.

Regards,

I thought the Conexant CX2027X (as used in the Cherrytrail based ASUS E200H) was supposed to be working now in 18.04 :-\

Can you try something for me .. open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo xed /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
find the line that reads:-
Code: [Select]
; realtime-scheduling = yes
and change it to
Code: [Select]
realtime-scheduling = no
SAVE the file and exit the text editor.

Now REBOOT.

Does sound now work ?

Hello
Yes I tried this but still no sound.
I couldn't play any YouTube videos to try much more.

Thanks
