Network manager icon disapeared SOLVED uh SOLVED again
« on: December 20, 2018, 02:27:25 am »
this has happened to me a few times in a few different distros what i did to get my connection manager back visible on my panel was go to   /etc/xdg/autostart/nm-applet.desktop open it with a text editor in root and  Go down to the Exec line and change the entry from nm-applet to dbus-launch nm-applet.

your file should look something like this
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Network
Comment=Manage your network connections
Icon=nm-device-wireless
Exec=dbus-launch nm-applet
Terminal=false
Type=Application
NoDisplay=true
NotShowIn=KDE;GNOME;
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Bugzilla=GNOME
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Product=NetworkManager
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Component=nm-applet
X-GNOME-UsesNotifications=true
X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=nm-applet

Save the file and reboot! and my icon and connection manager are back ... hope this helps someone

EDIT 0k well this isnt working anymore , my network manager disappeared again ... so this is what i did open the peppermint settings panel click system , startup and default apps click auto start and where it says add manuel entry , type nm-applet ...... and its back again , fingers crossed it'll stick this time haha
