  • Peppermint version(s): Developmental Builds
Been fiddling with this for weeks. Strictly 'cowboy coding'. Don't try this at home...

Quote
CONFIGURED FOR DEVELOPMENT

For kernels destined for the development series ONLY, configuration is not suitable for copying to stable series, use the main CKT PPA for that. If any of this is unclear ask ~apw or ~infinity.

  • Peppermint version(s): Developmental Builds
I know you and I enjoy toying with the point release(s), but to me, this 4.19 LTS is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

In my mind, I foresee Peppermint 10 being built in the same mold as Ubu 10.10 - if that makes any sense  ;D

I don't *think* many ppl care about UEFI/Secure Boot, but it's important to me at some level - the challenges aside.

If you want to check it out: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ubuntu/bootstrap?field.series_filter=disco

Thanks for the link  :)
Hmm...  :-\
Maybe I'll move all my systems to the 4.19 signed series as fall-back but, keep running a new rc every week anyway :D

EDIT: Oh, just one question here...
Have they fixed the missing firmware warnings on the 4.19 signed series?
Thx!
...wonder if I have the time this evening  ;D

I saved the install dialogue to my desktop, but I don't have access to It right now. I'm on the trot. I don't remember seeing any warnings and so forth.

When I get back to the abode later today, I'll post it here.

I am so tempted - but this install is just tooooooo good right now...

I know it's crazy but some installs are OK, some are.... meh and others just seem to go form strength to strength.

I seriously have to take a backup of this right now. It is in a sweet spot.

I am so tempted[...]

Here's a few analogies for you  ;D

Don't do it unless you know how to dig yourself out of a hole.

Really, this is 'cowboy' code' at it's worst. Think world championship bull riding event.

99 times out of 100 the parts to the bootstrap puzzle don't even fit together properly - they're made for a different purpose.

Basically, in this PPA, the devs are throwing shiz on the wall and seeing what sticks, you know?

For what it's worth, my recommendation is to wait until they place 'signed' into 'Proposed'.  ;)

linux-signed - 4.19.0-7.8 just hit 'proposed'.

LINK: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ubuntu/proposed/+packages?batch=75&memo=75&start=75

Same identical ver that I'm running from 'bootstrap'.

Just saying...  ;)
