Photo editing app
« on: November 26, 2018, 07:08:48 am »
:D I have been using the free LightZone photo editing application. It is very powerful and runs well on Peppermint OS. Peppermint should get in touch with the maintainers of this app and see if you could included it as your main pro stye photo editing program.

Peppermint has minimal pre-installed local applications out-of-the-box, as much as possible we leave user application choice to the user.

That said, according to their COPYING file here:
https://github.com/ktgw0316/LightZone/blob/master/COPYING

It looks like there would be no problem for a distro to pre-package it and add it to their repos.
(in fact they've even included the "debian" directory to help with this)

LightZone does excellent black & white. The presets are awesome. It's one of my go to's when photo editing.

They have a PPA
https://launchpad.net/~lightzone-team/+archive/ubuntu/lightzone
so installing it should be as easy as
Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lightzone-team/lightzone
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lightzone
but we're unlikely to ever install it as a default application .. it'd break our ethos of not forcing our choice of locally installed applications on users.
