Absolutely everything in that suggests the wireless is connected to BTHub5-PJPQ and working

The thing that's confusing me is that both r8192e_pci AND rtl8192se seem to be being loaded and they may be confusing each other.

run:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
when it opens, add a NEW line at the bottom that reads

blacklist rtl8192se

SAVE the file and exit gedit.

REBOOT, and see if wireless works.

[hr

If not, run:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
and change the line you added from:-

blacklist rtl8192se

to:-

blacklist r8192e_pci

SAVE the file and exit gedit.

REBOOT, and see if wireless works.

If not, run:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
and remove the line that you added altogether

SAVE and reboot and let me know what happened

no luck, sorry. the 'blacklist r8192e_pci' line worked when i rebooted for about half a second but then went back to normal ie: not working.

thank you very much for your help, but, i think i might try re-installing as someone else on the linux mint forums had the same problem and he said re-installing solved it [not sure how?]

With the "blacklist r8192e_pci" line (so only rtl8192se is loaded) .. what's the output from:
Code: [Select]
rfkill list
and does:
Code: [Select]
iwconfig
and
Code: [Select]
sudo iwlist scanning
still suggest it's finding all the available networks ?

And did you try deleting the wireless profile in networkmanager .. then recreating it ?

If you decide to reinstall .. good luck, and please let us know how you get on :)

i solved it! well, i cheated somewhat but i'm very happy with the outcome:

i brought a micro wifi dongle lol :-)

the last one i had was over 3 inches long and got in the way big time, this one doesn't it sticks out about a quarter of a inch from the netbook

thank you again for all help.

No worrries .. sorry we never got to the bottom of it.

Odd because everything I see on the net suggests the wifi on a 150 isn't an issue and should just work  :-\ .. but hey I've known stranger things happen :)
