Software Manager's
« on: September 04, 2018, 09:20:40 am »
Forum, - Hope you are all well,.....No problems just an observation.  I installed pep 9 about a month or so ago now.
As I look back I don't recall installing multiple software managers. (But my mind is fuzzy about it LOL)

To be honest I have a bash script to install the software I use often,
With that said,  I do venture in a Software Manager every so often install something.

Here is how I do it, I click "menu" and type Software and I pick one and go.
I will say it did confuse me at first to decide which one to use.

Aside from Synaptic Manager I removed the Mint Software manager and  kept the Gnome manager.
I used it the most so far and it does what I need.  Now I did notice that of course the Mint Software manager does have Mint specific software.
But other than that I could not really see much of a difference.

Which brings me to my question, why not just decide on one or the other, like I said  cuz at first it really did cause some confusion for me...

Thanks  ;)

A very similar question was asked yesterday, https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,7452.0.html
Check it there.
Personally, I only use Synaptic and the terminal.
