"Unknown device"  ;)
If I login from Peppermint, it shows Linux
...but when I login from NetBSD, it shows "Unknown OS"

I wonder if I would be allowed to login using Opera on NetBSD  :D

Heh. Yeah, Opera has done a pretty good job of confusing the Google bots.

Kind of a PITA when websites come up in Russian, when I'm trying to order something online, but funny as hell the rest of the time.

At least they didn't lock that mail account, this time.  ::)

Brave is the best browser I've seen for Android.

That is until yesterday when it disappeared off of my LG Tribute.  I updated the phone early in the morning; and, when I went to use my phone's browser later in the morning, Brave browser for Android was nowhere to be seen.  It was gone -- just gone! What the heck was that all about? ::)

Google owns Android, and Android is all about Google.  I pulled Chrome out of hibernation after that -- yeah, I had it on ice disabled.  That felt good for a while anyway.

Here are my thoughts about Chrome: ;D

Yeah, I think I do, PCNetSpec!

Let's see:

I use Android's smart lock, which means Google now has my exact address.  Google's tracks my weather; this helps Google confirm the address it already has.  Google follows my news interests as well as the topics of interest I choose to watch in YouTube.   Through Android and Gmail and Google calendar and Google Voice and YouTube and the extensions I use, what doesn't Google know about me?  I bet through its Manage other people feature in Chromium and Chrome, it can even make a pretty darn good guess who my wife is!

Phone calls and contacts (yes, mrs.perknh is number 2 on the speed dial), important events and documents, photos of family and friends, political discussions and jokes, what doesn't Google have on me?

Maybe Google still doesn't have my actual physical fingerprints, but what in the world would it need them for...especially if it already has everything else on me?

Never mind all those times I've used Google DNS!   Yeah, I'd say it's a safe bet that those bastados at Google got me pretty well pegged! ;D

I tried to access my Waze account, the other day, via my phone.

It asked me if I would allow Google to access my phone when it's TURNED OFF.

I declined, and it spit me off the site.

All that tells me is... Google can access one's phone when it's turned off.

As an aside, my understanding is, that's why Apple and others don't allow user access to the battery. They don't want ppl to remove the battery, so they can access phones when they're supposedly 'turned off.'

I'm considering going back to my flip phone, and smashing my smarty with a 100-ton press.

That's creepy.

I've done so twice, but my smartie's got me now.  I'm too used to using an app for international calling, and I love keeping up with the weather.  Also, I know I could never convince mrs.perknh to go back to flip phone.  That just isn't going to happen.  I'd be the lone ranger around here if I did so.  Yep, I'm assimilated now.  For better or worse, I'm now part of the fold.
