Safely Removing a USB Drive [Solved]
« on: July 27, 2018, 03:52:32 pm »
Hi Again.  Is there a way to safely remove a thumb drive like in Windows where one clicks on the "show hidden icons" near the clock in the right corner and you find the find the icon which clicking on says "Eject USB . . . ."  When I removed it from my Asus netbook (Peppermint 9) then used it in my laptop I got the usual message about having the drive scanned to see if there were errors to fix, just like I used to find when I would yank it out while the laptop was running in the old days.  I don't do that any more so so as not to see that nag dialog.

Thanks
John

Open the file manager, right click on the device and select
Code: [Select]
eject

I am sure there are other ways to do it, but that's the way I do it.
......to infinity and beyond..............

Ah, the File Manager!  I hadn't thought of that, I looked at the Discs but that didn't have anything.  But, yes, of course, the File Manager is it.  Thanks!
