Mintinstall (Software Manager) Crashes in P 9(SOLVED)
« on: July 25, 2018, 07:22:34 pm »
Hello peppermnit people. I hadn't noticed this before but today while checking out and installing software thru the mintinstall Software Manager, the manager would become unresponsive.  Clicking on the close "X" would pull up the notice that the app was unresponsive or busy and I would chose to terminate it. Later if I try to open the manager again, it would not launch. With a reboot, Software manager would open again and I could delete software but again it would crash and I would have to kill it. Any ideas of what is going on and how to fix it?

After killing it and trying to launch it from the terminal resulted with this.

See if (with mintinstall closed, try running:
Code: [Select]

Ran the code, so far the Software Manager hasn't stumbled. I download a couple of applications and deleted some and so far so good. Thanks PCNetSpec.  :)

I see the Software Manager got an update.  It really looks sweet.  I was doing a video and went to install some software and was blown away by the nice new look.  Needless to say I stumbled around my video for a while, major editing needed, lol.  I did run into the same issue with it crashing when I tried to install Clementine.  This worked for me as well.  Thanks!!!

I've been getting the same error, but this solution did not work for me. Is there something else I could try?

Yes. I can't get mintinstall to start. I tried re-installing mintinstall but that didn't help.
