I would hazard a guess that the gnome-tweak-tool would only work with a gnome desktop

Peppermint is not using a gnome desktop but others maybe able to tell you differently.

Not a guess Zeb .. the terminal is confirming this:-

WARNING : Shell not installed or running
WARNING : Error detecting shell

The gnome-tweak-tool is for the Gnome 3 desktop (shell) .. Peppermint doesn't use Gnome, and I'd strongly advise against installing it, if you want a Gnome distro it would make MUCH more sense to just go with vanilla Ubuntu 18.04 instead.

Hi williamthe1st,

You could try and go to https://www.xfce-look.org/ and simply dl any themes you like from there.

Please be aware to that many GTK2/GTK3 Themes are broken and do not look good when tried.  Our venerable PCNetSpec spends a lot of time (understatement of the year there)  tweaking themes to fix these inconsistencies for Peppermint.

That said you can find some that do work.

Thanks  :)

Would there be some sort of list that shows the working ok Themes , instead of having to individually  try each one to see if they are ok ?

Pick the ones that "claim" to be working with gtk 3.22  ;)

Are we talking about Peppermint 8 or 9 ?

If 8 .. most will work (to varying degrees).

if 9 .. as pin suggests, look for ones that claim to be gtk 3.22 compatible.
