Wifi not available
« on: September 29, 2018, 12:54:10 pm »
Today I shifted to peppermint OS 9. After installation, I don't seem to find my wifi. Neither I am able to see any driver in additional drivers. Also note  that I have no other way of connecting to internet other than wifi (in fact I am posting from my friends laptop). I know  my wifi driver is Broadcom  BCM43142 802.11b/g/n

Copy these 2 files to your Peppermint machine
http://cz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/d/dkms/dkms_2.3-3ubuntu9.2_all.deb
and
http://cz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/b/broadcom-sta/broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-8_all.deb
and double-click them to install

Install them in this order
dkms_2.3-3ubuntu9.2_all.deb
then
broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-8_all.deb

@Lord Rodin

The OP has no internet connection (wired or wireless) ;)

And neither of those packages will install even if they are downloaded on another PC and copied across .. because they both require dependencies.

download them manually, or check the "Download Package Files Only" checkbox. The DEBs will be downloaded to /var/cache/apt/archives

VERY important: both the offline and online computers must have the SAME architecture

then copy them to a thumb drive from one machine to another then install
