Hi iamesperambient, how's it going?   Open a new terminal window:

Ctrl+Alt+t.  When the terminal has opened, copy and paste the following command into the terminal.

Remember all terminal commands are case sensitive.  So accuracy is very important.

Tip: To avoid copy/paste errors, use the Code: [Select] function below to highlight.

Code: [Select]
df -h
Hit enter and there you go  8).

You can also always look it up in GParted.  If you haven't already installed GParted, enter the following code into a terminal window:
Code: [Select]
apt update && apt install gparted
Hit enter and do the password thing if asked.  GParted will appear in the sub-menu: menu>System Tool>GParted.  This is a very powerful tool, I really advise you to get to know it as it is so useful.

There is also a graphical tool called "Baobab".  If you are interested in that it is also very easy to install.  Enter the following code into a terminal window.
Code: [Select]
apt install Baobab
Hit enter and do the password thing again if asked.  Click on "y" when asked if you want to proceed.  It will appear in the sub-menu: menu>System Tools>Disk Usage Analyser.  It looks cool but I still prefer the simple terminal way or look it up in GParted.  It is great to see a nOOb who is so interested in the system.  Peppermint is certainly the place to learn - fantastic  ;)!  I hope this helps, have fun  ;)!!

Edit: I forgot to mention how to uninstall things if you no longer want them.  Enter the following code into a terminal window, substituting, "Package Name" for the package you want to remove:
Code: [Select]
apt remove --purge "Package Name"
Hit enter, you already know about the password thing and that's it  ;).

Hi,

Open a terminal and enter
Code: [Select]
df -h
and you will see how much space is available on the partitions that you have mounted.

Or you could just open the file manager, then look bottom right of the window ;)

you should see something similar to:-

Free Space: 168.1 GiB (Total: 246.8 GiB)

But yeah:
Code: [Select]
df -h
would be my "go to" preference too :)
