iphone 5SE connection - SOLVED

good morning.
i'm using Peppermint 8 64bit.
my iphone will not connect to my laptop.
plugged into usb port i get nothing.
need help.

Plug it in, make sure you hit "Allow" on the phone screen, and mount it. (click on it on your list of devices in the File Manager to mount it) You'll get a blank window, which is what I'm assuming you're getting now. Umount it by clicking on the eject symbol next to the device but don't unplug it. Mount it again and you should see your DCIM folder, which is all you'll have access to.

I know, this sounds weird, but I have the same model of phone and it works.

thanks much for the help.

i did nothing to fix the issue.
it just started working.
may be a cable problem.

I don't know, they're hit or miss on working with Linux.
