Hi stevesveryown,

Nice work! Isn't it great the way the appearance can be modified? And you still have Peppermint 8 to enjoy!!  8) 8)

Maybe we can/should look at a similar UI 'makeover' as the defaults at some point .. thanks Steve :)

Just thinking out loud, and considering Peppermint was out before ChromeOS (and ChromeOS is just Linux anyway) it'd be hard for Google to say we "borrowed" the idea :)

Love it!  That's really a nice look, stevesveryown.  I like what you have there better than Chrome OS itself. :)

Just thinking out loud, and considering Peppermint was out before ChromeOS (and ChromeOS is just Linux anyway) it'd be hard for Google to say we "borrowed" the idea :)

Most of these sort of cases are not resolved in terms of truth and beauty, but rather budget and representation. Which was probably what did for cub.

Personally I rather like peppermint how it is as default. I probably like something like budgie (solus) most.... Although I also quite like gnome (a sure sign you should pay me no heed).

It amuses me and infuriates me in equal measure that people get so seduced by arguments over how a desktop looks. When you can make pretty much anything look how you want it to.

Mainly blank with quick access to the necessary tools, for me. No bling required.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the nice comments.  As I stated in my video, the Peppermint team has put together a very nice looking theme right out of the box.  Considering how plain and mundane Lubuntu, or even Xubuntu,  is out of the box, even with 18.04.  Back, oh those 3 long years ago, when I first tried Peppermint 5, it was the look that hooked me.  Coming from winders and trying linux distros I didn't know what to expect.  When I tried Lubuntu I thought, ugly, why would I want this.  Then I tried Peppermint and have stuck with it since.  Once I learned how to customise I knew I could use any distro but it is the thought and care that this Peppermint Team buts into it's distro that continues to keep me hooked.  At 61 I am a Peppermint Fan Boy, much like English Bob.  Peppermint is beautiful and it just works.  Thank you Team!  By Fathers Day I will be able to share some photos of my support of Peppermint by wearing a Polo and T-shirt my wife ordered me with the Peppermint Logo on them.  8)

On the customization, I like how when I have visitors and they see my desktop, on my beautiful HP 25er flat screen, and they have this look, like, is this Windows?  That's where I lure them in and the reconditioning starts.....  ;D
Thanks!

Steve
