Peppermint is Ubuntu based, so it should make no difference.
On the other hand, different laptops will behave differently. You will need to get to the grub menu.

Grub is present in the Peppermint live-usb that you have. Boot from it and hold the Shift key.

What happens if you press and hold the shift key directly after the brand logo disappears?

Ubuntu does not display the GRUB menu by default. To see GRUB during boot you need to press the right-hand SHIFT key during boot.

I'm out of ideas  :'(
If you don't get to the grub menu... I don't know how we can proceed?!  :-\

That said, hold on for a bit longer! I hope someone else has other suggestions!
Regards

EDIT: Do you have the possibility to create a second USB using this tutorial? https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,4350.msg43364.html#msg43364
Also can you check the checksums, so we know the ISO is ok?

When you get to the screen with "Try Peppermint / Install Peppermint", does hitting the "Tab" key make some white writing appear at the bottom that ends with;-

quiet splash --

?

If so, make it end with

quite splash nomodeset --

then hit "Enter" to continue booting .. did that help ?

if not, try removing the "quiet splash" .. which should cause it to boot in text mode .. then watch the texxt going past whilst it boots, and tell us the last thing on screen when the boot freezes.

Guys, after having installed the os, when i choose to start peppermint the only thing that i display in the screen is the mouse and a black screen :/. I entered in the safe graphic mode and i can do things there, but how can i fix the black screen in the "normal" mode? Thank you for the support! :)

Hi Kigico,

I had a similar problem. At the startup screen press 'e' to edit the command and delete '--splash' from the end of that command.
Sorry, ignore this. I only noticed that you have already installed!   :'(

Do the same thing PCNetSpec mentioned above until you can get proprietary drivers installed.     ie     quite splash nomodeset --
