Peppermint don't want to be installed or tried?
« on: May 19, 2018, 01:42:15 pm »
Hello everyone! I'm new in this new os, i saw so many videos of peppermint 8 that i can't even resist to try it in my old netbook(that have windows 7 ultimate installed). So i read the installation guide on the official site, i created a bootable usb (using once rufus, then UNetbootin and in the end Universal USB installer, none changed the result), i entered into the installation screen, where i can choose if i want to launch peppermint live, or installing it. When i choose to start on the usb, the live version, in the screen i have the loading bar where it says "starting up" and then going to a completely black screen, which I left for hours to load without getting any results. Restarting choosing this time to install peppermint directly. Nothing to do, i remain stuck in the screen with written "starting up" (here left for hours to load, but nothing). Now I wonder: what's wrong? Because it seems that nobody has my problem. Thanks guys!

EDIT:I have Windows Professional SP1, i have written wrong in the post, sorry :/

What ISO are you using? 32bit or 64bit?
It seems that this model has some issues displaying graphics correctly see, https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1468347
Also this post might help https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=438486

Yes, I think you should use the 32bit version.
Did you have a look at the links above?

Yeah, do you think that running the safe graphics mode the problem will be solved?

It's worthy a try!
For obvious reasons, I can not test this. The issue in those links is on the same laptop model

I noticed that many of this tutorial were used into computers that have ubuntu, or triing to install it. Nothing for peppermint. I tried to hold the shift key on my laptop or pressing esc, but i enter in the command screen with only the word boot. nothing else. I think that there is another way to go into the safe mode, because i can't enter in the grub menu with peppermint like others did with ubuntu. There is no hope that i can install this os? I have to move to another? I really don't know what to do
