Over the last few days, I've installed 4.16.5 mainline kernels on all of my Peppermint 7, 8, desktop, laptop, 64-bit and 32-bit machines.

All are working great.

Last night, they uploaded 4.16.6 to the mainline repo, but it requires libssl 1.1, which only exists (and runs properly) in bionic.

So, it looks like 'that's that'.   8)

Yeap!
I guess you know what to do?
Compile the kernel AND the dependencies.
Happy with 4.17.0rc2 here for a few hours more. Soon it's 4.17.0rc3!!

Hi VinDSL,

I downloaded libssl1.1, installed it and now have kernel v4.16.6 up and running in my PeppermintOS 8.5 (aka respin). Everything seems to be working just fine so far. 8)

Aha!  I see it now. Good one.

I must have looked for that package for an hour, using my lappy.

Went right to it on my desktop. Go figure.

Guess that's what happens when one is using a 14.1" display vs a 29" display, eh what?  ;D

I'll give it a whirl tonight ...

Had a few minutes, and upgraded my 'road warrior' to 4.16.9

I see that they have 32-bit 4.17-rc.x binaries available now.

I'll give that a whirl when I get back to the abode.  ;)

Nope. Not fully baked yet.

I'm getting a kernel panic @ init on 4.17rc6, with my 14 year-old 32-bit Dell doorstop.

Imagine that ...  ;D
