menu bar placement [SOLVED]
« on: March 28, 2018, 11:15:15 pm »
Is it possible to move the menu bar from the bottom of the screen to the top. I tried doing the Ubuntu Mate setup from the user-supplied tutorial, but it seemed to break more things than fixing them! >:(

Is there an official way of implementing a "mate style" desktop? Thanks!

Hi darrel_jw, how's it going  ;)?  Sure you can move the panel to the top, it's really simple to do.

Right click on the panel and select from the popup menus:

Panel > Panel Preferences...

From the Panel window, deselect the Lock panel check/tick box

With you mouse cursor go to either end of the panel, Left Click and hold.  Drag the panel to the top of the screen and release.  Reselect the Lock panel check/tick box.  Close the Panel window.  You're all done.  Peppermint 8 is nice and easy to customize.  I hope this helps - have fun  ;).
