My ISP is still not allocating IPv6 .. but then again I don't really care which addressing protocol is used as long as I can access what I need :)

I hear ya. IPv6 has been around, in various forms, manifestations, and implementations, ever since I can remember.

I've tried to enable it many, many, many times - every time I bought a new modem - every time I switched my ISP - every time I upgraded my service.

Truthfully, I was convinced it was vaporware - never expected to see it working in my lifetime, especially here in dusty Arizona.

All of a sudden BOOM there it is. Will wonders never cease :-\

BTW, setting up IPv6 on the Actiontec C3000A is stupid-simple. YaY Actiontec!

IPv6 wasn't enabled by default. I had to do that, and configure the modem for the private IP addys that I use on my LAN.

I've always had good luck with Actiontec modems. No bragging rights - it's butt fugly, but whatevs  ::)

I've been looking for a 1TB SSD, but only wanted to pay $100 USD w/shipping.

Prices dropped like a rock, throughout the year, then stalled. Well, I couldn't take it any more - close enough...  :)

Cool @VinDSL ... but I'm wondering when the Dell laptop sale begins again?

They are running sales all the time, but probably the best sales will be after Christmas.

That's the nice thing about tech - if you have patience, the prices always come down.

Personally, I always stay a few steps behind the curve. That's the sweet spot, for me.  ;)

That's a damn good price for a TB SSD .. I've never had any problems with Crucial SSD's either (M500's anyway).

Yup, Crucial has street creds. It should work just fine.

I wouldn't have considered a no-name 1TB SSD, at any price.

Damn $5.00 coupon put me over the edge - figured it was time to fish or cut bait. LoL   ;D

Wow, SSDs are really coming down in price. Crucial is definitely a good brand. They've been known for years for having good RAM, so it's not surprising they're in the SSD game as well.

In fact IIRC Crucials have power loss protection where Samsungs don't.

Not sure how effective/necessary it is, but can't hurt right ;)

in my cranky middle elder age, I'm usually pretty good about avoiding all the impulse holiday purchasing right down to not buying any sweets. Out of sheer boredom we wandered into Best Buy and now I am salivating over this... #ChangeMyMind!

Very nice, but dunno how well it'd handle Peppermint in tablet mode .. unless of course you wanna buy two and donate one .. for development purposes of course ;)

On another forum I mentioned having a leather turntable mat (to cut out static when playing records). Another user commented that was "a bit too Judas Priest" for his liking.  :D

Personally if I were going high end lappy, it'd be a Dell XPS 15 .. in fact I **really** want one.

Not that I am drooling over this, nor am I in any great need of it, as we never come close to filling the drives we already have... but some of you might...
