Years ago I tried an ale in Maine that focused on blueberries.  Since I'm crazy about blueberries, I thought I might like the ale, but it didn't do much for me: it was too yeasty and too cloudy.  Now the stouts can be fun because a brew master can experiment with lots of different flavors and tones because a stout has a heavier base.  A stout can pull in a coffee tone, or a hint of chocolate.  It sounds to me like pin's stout was too busy... that it was working with too many flavors at once.

I like banana bread too.  I have many fond memories of eating steaming hot, homemade banana bread that was baked with lots of love and then was topped with gobs of butter.  Delicious! :)

By the way, the banana beer you pointed at is available here in Sweden. I might buy some next time  ;) -- pin

Report in, pin, after you try murraymint's beer.  It sounds interesting.

I saw on the NewsHour how much plastic a consumer of seafood eats these days without even knowing it.  I can't remember the amount, but the amount was appalling.  I mean they were micro-plastics, but still..

Okay, I've got an update here.  Apparently eating these micro-plastics is not as bad for us as I thought.  I don't know how comforting this is to hear, but this news should be considered a plus...I guess??? :-\  I suggest focusing on  "not yet a cause for alarm" statement from Professor Richard Thompson.

Quote
“You would have to eat well over 10,000 mussels a year to reach the quantities of plastics the Belgian studies suggest,” he says. Even for Belgians, that seems excessive. And, crucially, there is no evidence of harm to humans from those quantities. He agrees contamination is widespread – and concerning – but it is “not yet a cause for alarm.   -- Professor Richard Thompson, a leading international expert on microplastics and marine debris... from Plymouth University

Every Christmas my missus' best friend goes out of her way to buy me four ales I've never heard of before (usually but not always from Cornwall) :)

Don't ask me what they were this year .. they're gone (and I don't feel like trawling through the trash) :)

[EDIT]

Found this years selection
