P8 won't boot to desktop [solved]
« on: January 20, 2018, 11:23:37 am »
Hi,
sttruggling with this annoying problem: I have autologin enabled and P8 just won't boot up the normal way. A black screen is all I get, PC doesn't react to any keyboard input after that, and I must hard-reset using the PC hardware switch.

If I select the recovery boot option, system boots to gui desktop without a glitch. I have tried fsck, update manager (2x), updating grub manually, all to no avail. Suggestions?

Is this only on the 4.13.0-26 kernel or can you boot properly into a earlier kernel?

None of the kernels boot properly, not upstart either, only recovery mode.

The problem seems to have solved itself after the last update, I'm all good. Thank you for the attention.
