Hi guys! I have an HPdv2000 model with a freshly install of PeppermintOS 4. I've had all kinds of problems at boot. Sometimes it fully boots to desktop environment and sometimes it doesn't. I though it could be a dying hard drive but a SMART test claims it "PASSED" the test. Could it be a problem with the NVIDIA graphics card? Please be gentle, I'm a newbie but I learn pretty fast. Thanks!

Hi, Robert!

Welcome to the Peppermint Lounge. I think that if I were you, I wouldn't spend my time trying to get Peppermint 4 up and running. My suggestion would be to install Peppermint 5 and see how things go.  ;)

If you are still having trouble, get back to us. If everything works with Peppermint 5, come back anyway and edit the subject line of your first posting to indicate that your problem has been (SOLVED) .

Good luck,
