I'm not a programmer, but most of our peppermint specific utilities are written in python if that helps, and we could always do with some help maintaining them i working order as other components change.

We could also do with someone who knows how to add translations to our python utilities such as the peppermint-control-center .. I'm not talking of the translations themselves, more how to hook .po (translation files) into the python code itself.

Haha :) Mostly because there would be no benefit for something like the settings. It would only make it more difficult for people to contribute to.

Why has everyone apparently got it in for Python lately :-\

Seems ideal to me for non performance critical stuff.

I think sometimes people read too much stuff online :) Python is fantastic for a lot of things. And the huge selection of libraries/modules available for use make it easy to do so many things with it. And maintain and iterate them quickly.

Or, not enough.  ;D

I wasn't being whimsical or sarcastic when I remarked that Lua would be fun.

I like Python just fine, but Lua IS more fun... than Python.
