Hey VinDSL, since you mentioned laptops, would you mind jiggering my memory and remind us all when your Dell Refurb was purchased? I can't locate that thread... :-\

A pet peeve of mine is that every time Win10 gets an update it re-enables the touchpad and I have to set it to "disabled when a USB mouse is plugged in" for her again >:(

Did you try disabling it in UEFI?  That's what I used to do when I used a laptop and didn't want it activated, I just deactivated it in the BIOS.  Unless Win10 can change your UEFI settings, which really wouldn't surprise me.  ::)

I've never seen an option to disable a touchpad in a laptop BIOS before, there certainly wasn't one on her previous HP laptop.

BUT...

Now that you mentioned it, I had a look in the Dell BIOS and sure enough there **IS** an option to disable .. chalk up another win for the Dell E series :)

TVM, that'll save me a rather regular annoyance :)

Another reason to not like HP computers.  Itís an option on my ASUS laptop.

I have the touchpad permanently disabled from the BIOS on my Dell Inspiron 3721.  Sine it has a 17" screen and is not very portable....I just use a mouse on it permanently.
