Linspire and Ice SSB
« on: January 08, 2018, 12:34:05 pm »
Hello you all.

Today on Distrowatch Weekly the main topic on discussion is the return of an old distro - Linspire/Freespire. I remember not liking it when it was called Lindows, but that was so many years ago...

Anyway, they're both form the same company, but Linspire is the more complete distro, with closed source components. What's curious is that they advertise Linspire with the support to "Ice SSB web app creator" (http://www.pc-opensystems.com/p/linspireos.html), while the same is not available in the default install of Freespire.

It's nice to see Ice SSB making its way as a pre-installed software on more distros. I just hope they remember to show some consideration with the ICE developers.
There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

ICE is open source and GPL so they're free to use it however they wish .. thanks for letting us know though, always good to see it out there :)
