Recover Firefox shortcut to desktop (SOLVED)

Firefox icon suddenly gone after most recent updates, how to replace?  Firefox ver 57.0.3 have tried uninstall and reinstall, also tried refresh Firefox still no desktop icon appears-

Find it in the Menu, (under "Internet") right-click on it and hit "Add to Desktop."

I tried that but it just creates a "blank page" looking icon instead of the little fox and globe symbol-  It seems there is a bug in this latest version since reinstall does not recover it... I have contacted Mozilla about it but I guess for now I'll just have to start Firefox from the drop-down menu.  Thanks anyhow.

If you're on Peppermint 6, run:
Code: [Select]
cp -v /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop ~/Desktop/firefox.desktop
then
Code: [Select]
chmod +x ~/Desktop/firefox.desktop
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.
