6g of RAM on 32 bit system
« on: October 18, 2014, 09:05:22 pm »
Good day all. First love this distro. Was a linux lite for a few yrs. Tried peppermint a while back it was nice
but not what I was looking for. But this peppermint 5 five is smashing fast.

But now for my question. I have 32 bit installed. I have 6g of RAM installed. Does it see AND use them
all?

I have a ssh drive in and was told not to reinstall to much on them so I want to make sure if it does
not see and use all how do I go by doing that.

I heard PAE? And which one?

32bit Peppermint 5 *does* have a PAE enabled kernel, so it should see all of your 6GB

run:
Code: [Select]
free -m
to see memory available/usage

Not quite sure what you mean by that ?

Do you mean you have an SSD and are trying to minimise writes to it ?
