permissions on USB thumbdrive[SOLVED]
« on: November 22, 2017, 10:38:47 am »
Par for the course, I tell PCNetSpec in an earlier post I like playing along the bleeding edge...  8)    and in the next minute I'm flummoxed as to why "Disk Manager" wipes and formats a USB thumb drive as Fat32 without also giving it full read/write permissions?  :o

Use the USB Stick Formatter utility .. that's what it's there for ;)

Yeah I occasionally have that problem .. sometimes you have to select the USB stick a few times before it formats, but it gets there in the end.

I've just pushed an update to mintstick (USB Image Writer and USB Stick Formatter) that at least for me seems to have fixed the issue where you have to try two or three times before the USB Stick Formatter actually formats the sick.

mintstick 1.2.8  -->  mintstick 1.3.4

Should I be able to set permissions whilst formatting? or is that beyond the capabilities?
