How do I tell what version of Peppermint I'm running?

Lots of different ways. When I don't want a bunch of info, I do this in the terminal...

Code: [Select]
inxi -v1

EXAMPLE:

Code: [Select]
╭─vindsl@Boogaloo-5 ~
╰─➤  inxi -v1
System:    Host: Boogaloo-5 Kernel: 4.13.0-17-generic x86_64 (64 bit)
           Desktop: N/A Distro: Peppermint Seven
CPU:       Quad core Intel Core i5-3470 (-MCP-) speed/max: 3192/3600 MHz
Graphics:  Card: NVIDIA GK208 [GeForce GT 710B]
Display Server: X.Org 1.19.5 drivers: nvidia (unloaded: fbdev, vesa, nouveau)
           Resolution: 1280x1024@60.02hz, 1280x1024@60.02hz, 2560x1080@60.00hz
           GLX Renderer: GeForce GT 710/PCIe/SSE2
           GLX Version: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 384.98
Drives:    HDD Total Size: 1266.0GB (5.9% used)
Info:      Processes: 203 Uptime: 2:06 Memory: 1681.2/15999.2MB
           Client: Shell (zsh) inxi: 2.2.35

Hi! you can use this command in your terminal :P
Code: [Select]
 lsb_release -a

And the terminal put only the version you have of peppermint :)

Code: [Select]
 lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Peppermint
Description: Peppermint 7 Seven
Release: 7
Codename: xenial

This is other way to get the verion you are using of the system.. as ^  this user said.

Bye!

Maybe using hardinfo you can see your version of peppermint? :-/

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install hardinfo

When you run the hardinfo, you go to 'summary' and then, appears something like this:

You've done something seriously wrong then

What's the output from:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep base-files
and
Code: [Select]
apt-cache policy base-files
