Nemo Question - About storage. (SOLVED)
« on: November 17, 2017, 09:04:39 am »
I have P7  installed. I have in this box 4 HDDs
one is  Filesystem
The rest are just storage,  backups etc......
On this particular machine.
If I do this:
1.  Login Open Nemo
2. those other drives never show in the browse tree.

Now....out of curiosity about month I installed Thunar just to see what it's like (Never used it before)
Nothing is broken or anything.
If I do this:
--Thanks!
1. Login Open Thunar
2.The drives show in the DEVICES browse tree no problem.

And finally if I do this.
1. Login Open thunar
2. Then open Nemo
3. Nemo will Show the drives.

what am I doing wrong? :-\
Thanks!

They are all internal......but.....
:-[...........this is the problem .....I just so happened to click it this morning

in a nemo window in the lower left corner there are three icons.
  • Show Places
  • Show TreeView
  • Hide the Side Bar

Well the Show Places shows you everything as normal
If you have turned on  Show Treeview it only shows the things you have accessed  since you have logged in.

At some point I must have clicked the ShowTree view...... :-[

But at least I found the culprit LOL  ;)

Yeah "tree view" only shows MOUNTED directories .. so until you mount them they won't show up in the tree view.

As they're internal drives, why noyt just set them to automount at bootup.

If you're not sure how, just ask .. it's quite easy from the "Disks" utility but as usual only when you know it's there ;)
