How can I play oldschool runescape windows client on linux?
« on: November 09, 2017, 08:20:20 pm »
I am a newbie with very little experience with Linux and would like to know how to run the old school windows client on windows. I have found a  popular 3rd party old school Runescape client known as OSBuddy which works natively with Linux. However I am not sure if I should run the 3rd party client or try to run the windows client on Linux?

I thought Runescape had an official Linux client (runescape-launcher) ?

This suggests they do

But if that's not what you want, I'd be more likely to try the native OSbuddy solution before running anything under WINE.
(their "Debian" .deb seems like it would install in Peppermint, just pulling in a couple of 'jar' utils as dependencies)

I have installed Osbuddy and the client works but for some reason I keep getting  "Error overwriting old loader /usr/share/osbuddy/OSBuddy.jar (Permission denied)" on the osbuddy loader.

You can also use playonlinux (in the app store) to play other windows games.  I play path of exile at 60fps
