How to restore desktop icon "Computer"? (Linux Peppermint 7, x86).

Hi carlo9204,

You can to do this via "dconf editor" - you may have to install it if its not already there.  Menu > All > dconf editor  or Menu > System Tools > dconf editor

When open goto org>nemo>desktop and tick the computer-icon-visible

There are a number of other icons that can be displayed.

gsettings set org.nemo.desktop home-icon-visible true
Home folder icon OFF

Computer icon ON
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop computer-icon-visible true
Computer icon OFF
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop computer-icon-visible false

Trash icon ON
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop trash-icon-visible true
Trash icon OFF
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop trash-icon-visible false

Network icon ON
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.nemo.desktop network-icon-visible true
Network icon OFF

Show icons for mounted volumes ON

The other option is to fire up "dconf Editor"

navigate to org > nemo > desktop

Then tick/untick any of:-

home-icon-visible
computer-icon-visible
trash-icon-visible
network-icon-visible
volumes-visible
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.
