Mystery shutdown
« on: September 26, 2017, 08:47:05 pm »
My son's desktop, running Peppermint 8, has shutdown by itself twice.
Both times he was on Facebook using the Flashpeak Slimjet browser.
He says that he suddenly gets the 'Pepperment is shutting down' message
and about 5 to 10 sec. later it shuts down.

( I'm trying to get him to see if it's consistently repeatable,
but it's hard for me to look into it since he's 800 miles away.)

Any idea why Peppermint would shut down by itself ?
Could it have anything to do with the Slimjet browser
or being on Facebook ?

Sounds more like the power manager thinking there's no power (low battery?).

Would it shutdown for overheating? I had that problem once on a Vista laptop but I don't know if Peppermint would do it.

Time to pour over the logs, I would judge.  ;)

Agreed. Dust bunnies, maybe?
