Do you mean in a less than Ubuntu's approach with Amazon and Unity searches...?
This is
VERY different to the Ubuntu Amazon lens.
All this does it send the search query to the forums search engine via a DDG search .. it sends ZERO search queries unless you specifically add the !pmos bang.
This is not a local search query that also sends that query to third parties, and it doesn't even go to DDG and this forum unless you specifically tell it to each time.
All this does is fire up your web browser and search the forum .. it couldn''t be more different that the Unity Amazon lens

What you type into the whiskermenu search will NEVER go online unless you specifically tell it to pass the search to your web browser with the "!pmos" bang .. the whiskermenu search is NOT capable of going online itself, it just fires up your browser if and ONLY if you tell it to EACH TIME.
ZERO info will leave the whiskermenu search field unless you "accidentally" precede it with the !bang .. and there's little chance of that happening accidentally (besides which it shows you it's going to do it before you hit enter) .. it's as likely to happen accidentally as you accidentally opening your browser and running a search. Also remember this search is run ONLY on this forums search function, DDG only forward it .. and DDG are all about privacy anyway.
