Thunderbird update error [Solved]
« on: July 09, 2017, 01:50:41 pm »
Hi everybody,

I am receiving the following error when I try to update Thunderbird via the Update Manager:

W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.lstn.net/ubuntu/pool/main/t/thunderbird/thunderbird_52.2.1+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_amd64.deb
  404  Not Found [IP: 2607:ff68:1:4c::100 80]

I get the same error message when I try via Synaptic.  Could somebody please help?  Everything else will update.  I checked.  I do not have this problem in Ubuntu 17.04.

Thanks

I forgot to post:

That's because that version isn't in that repo (the latest is 52.1.1 in there).

Maybe they added it, then removed it again for some reason.

Run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
to update your package cache

Does everything look fine?  I went ahead and un-installed Thunderbird and re-installed it.  It is the current version now.  I didn't want to do that but it seemed like it would be the easiest thing to do.  Hopefully I won't run into this issue again.  I haven't run into any issues before updating Ubuntu or any Ubuntu based distros.  I've had a couple of issues with Manjaro.  It seems like that is not uncommon with Arch from what I read.  Thanks again for the help.  The Peppermint community rocks.

Hi SleepyD, how's it going?  I see you're having trouble encapsulating terminal outputs.  Try this the next time  :).  After you've pasted the output to the forum editor.  Highlight the output by placing the mouse cursor at the beginning of the output.  Depress the left mouse button and hold.  Drag the cursor to the end of the output and release the left mouse button.  The output will now be highlighted.  In the forum editing options, select the # and left click on it.  This function is located above the  :-[ (Embarrassed) emoticon.   Your terminal output will now be encapsulated with the Code function.  I hope this helps  ;).
Backup! Backup! Backup! If you're missing any of these -  you ain't Backed Up!
