uninstall problems
« on: June 22, 2017, 06:34:33 am »
i tested this windows wine emulator whatever

find not useful

then i remove, and it shows not installed

but it is there .. i can open it from menu ??

and same time it should not be installed ?

home/i_t/.local/share/wineprefixes/firefox/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox

well i then noticed need delete about 10 different wine..starting applications from program list (but needed just 1 to install all that?)

what was left, is wine in menu and there is old version of windows working mozilla firefox

what is best way to get rid of this wine _ and firefox under that in menu?

can i go to just address of wine in program list or should some uninstall tool?

Fully removing WINE is always a pain.

Can you run:
Code: [Select]
sudo updatedb
then post the output from:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep -i wine
and
Code: [Select]
locate -i wine

It'll be hard to give specific instructions unless you post the output ;)

If the output is large, maybe post it to pastebin
Code: [Select]
https://pastebin.com
and post a link to it.

Here other link may be better, there was limit 30k something so i used pastebin.

Thanks if you can help how to delete those.

Okay if you want to get rid of everything to do with WINE, lets' start here .. open a terminal and run these commands in sequence
Code: [Select]
cd ~
then
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -rf .wine
once that's done, run:
Code: [Select]
sudo updatedb
then post the output from:
Code: [Select]
locate -i wine
again

The only 2 left are
Code: [Select]
rm -rv /home/i_t/.local/share/applications/wine
and
Code: [Select]
rm -v /home/i_t/.config/menus/applications-merged/wine-Programs-Mozilla Firefox.menu
but they're not really important.

Thanks, first went ok, removed somethings but 2nd under : "rm: cannot remove '/home/i_t/.config/menus/applications-merged/wine-Programs-Mozilla': No such file or directory
rm: cannot remove 'Firefox.menu': No such file or directory
"

Well good to delete what not use. Other alternative would be to install whole thing again and start from beginning ..

I wouldn't worry about that file.

Well , noticed i could check (w right mouse button menu) show hidden files

then go config / menus / .. and there was this listed as "no such file or directory" .. i deleted from there though lightweight case it seemed.

Theres nothing in menu anymore, so quite well should those wine and old version of windows compatible firefox now gone deleted.
