How an Idiot reviews a Distro.
« on: June 29, 2014, 02:35:34 am »
I saw this review of our lovely new Peppermint OS Five.  This in depth  ::) review was made 23 June 2014; the day it was launched  :o.   So he really knows what he's talking about!   Just watch and listen, (if you can understand half the gibberish this twit is spouting) and try and figure out how he comes to his conclusions.  This should honestly be used as a training video on how not to review a Distro.  You will laugh but unfortunately, there will also be people who take heed of this garbage.  He has conveniently turned off the comments  >:(.  That's a real shame because I have some really useful and juicy feedback for him.  Turning off the comments is probably the only wise thing he has done in this review.  The next thing he needs to do is do the world a favour and forget about computers altogether   :D.  The whole thing is shockingly ignorant!!  How an Idiot reviews a Distro

Constructive criticism is WELCOME .. this rubbish is easily ignorable, and not even close to a "review".

Strange .. all the Aussies I've ever met don't normally suffer petty people with an inflated sense of self importance .. heck they invented the saying "Whingeing Pom" which as a Brit, I thank them for ;)

Its not even close to an opinion, let alone a review.  We can't blame the Aussies for this one though.  However,  It does prove that morons also live in New Zealand.  ;)

I'd never heard a non-American accent with a lisp before, so that was a learning experience.

I thought everyone in New Zealand sounded like Bret and Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords.  This guys sounds like the stereotypically, cockney British guy, but with a live goldfish in his mouth.

Now he seems to think it'd make a good steam box (?)

"I had trouble installing steam, but downloading the .deb file from the steam website and installing it through gdebi worked" .. Huh, how else are you supposed to install it ?

Ignore that, apparently it's in the repo's now  :-[

People are welcome to their opinions but spreading misinformation is generally where I cross the line and will say something. In his initial "review" he claims that the Peppermint Control Center and LXAppearance are the same thing when in fact they share exactly zero functionality. I encourage constructive criticism of Peppermint, but not even getting such basic information correct is a bit laughable. Oh well.

It's probably best to just ignore reviews like this (and not repost them)...  Anyone can post something on YouTube, it's only relevant when people pay attention.
