So I've tried running nvidia-xconfig and this is what i've got:

Code: [Select]
tran@tran-OMEN-by-HP-Laptop ~ $ sudo /usr/lib/nvidia-375/bin/nvidia-xconfig

WARNING: Unable to locate/open X configuration file.

Package xorg-server was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `xorg-server.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'xorg-server' found
New X configuration file written to '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'

Well, it wrote a new X configuration file, which is actually a good thing.  For some reason, whenever I run that command, it never "finds" one and just writes a new one, even if the driver is running.

After rebooting, is the driver working now?

Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep xserver-xorg

Ok so I've done some research and it seems that nvidia-prime doesn't work with 4.4 kernels (?) so switching to peppermint 8 did the trick !

Thanks a lot for your help
